Dr. Brown

At Sweet Tooth Children’s Dentistry in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Dr. Julia Brown’s primary mission is to build trusting relationships with her young patients to ensure lifelong oral health.

Dr. Brown’s gentle demeanor immediately puts children at ease, as does her office, which is designed just for children. Behind the cheery decor, however, Dr. Brown’s facility is equipped with the latest technology to deliver state-of-the-art care for kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens.

Dr. Brown emphasizes preventive care and sits down with parents and kids alike to educate and familiarize her patients with the best practices in dental health.

Dr. Brown is a California native, born in Redlands, California. She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology at California State University, San Bernardino before attending Loma Linda University School of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2006.

Dr. Brown is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Tri-County Dental Society.

Aside from her work, Dr. Brown’s other passions include her husband Shawn; children Whitney, Genevieve, Maxwell, and Carson; and her world famous poodle. Dr. Brown loves celebrating life with her friends and family, drinking tea, and telling corny jokes.


Dr. Mariano

Dr. Rachele Mariano is a Board-Eligible pediatric dentist who enjoys working with children and helping them develop brighter healthier smiles. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with her bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology. Afterward, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. While in dental school, she dedicated herself to volunteering–by providing care and promoting oral health in underserved populations of LA County.

After dental school, she served as chief resident and completed her advanced training in pediatric dentistry with NYU Langone Dental Medicine at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, CA.

It was through her training that Dr. Mariano has had experience with sedation dentistry, full-mouth dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia, dental trauma management, and a special focus on the treatment of children with special health care needs. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, California Society of Pediatric Dentists, and San Gabriel Valley Dental Society.

Dr. Mariano is bilingual in both English and Tagalog (Filipino) and knows conversational ASL. During her spare time, she enjoys spending her time with family and friends, listening to music, reading, dancing, and playing with her cat, Lucky.


Dr. Carlson

A true Southern California native, Dr. Chuck Carlson was born and raised in Orange County. Unable to leave the sunshine, he stayed local, graduating Summa Cum Laude from UCLA with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery, before continuing and completing his Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s Degree in Oral and Craniofacial Biology, also at UCLA.

Dr. Carlson is passionate about life and orthodontics, and he loves what he does! He believes that every individual seeking to improve their life through a smile transformation deserves a unique approach to treatment. An overachiever and a perfectionist, you can rest assured that he will work tirelessly to give you the results you or your child deserves.

Because of his meticulous attention to detail, he was honored with the Best Case presented at the 2014 American Board of Orthodontics Examination. In 2016, Dr. Carlson published a Case Report in the prestigious American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AJODO), that was later chosen as the 2017 Case Report of the Year by the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. His contributions to orthodontic research include furthering automated analysis of three-dimensional surface morphology in craniofacial structures.

Dr. Carlson is also a husband and proud father. He lives with his wife, Tara, daughter, Bradyn, and the ‘world’s greatest dog’, Kingston.  In his free time, you might find him in the ocean, on a mountain, building something, or simply relaxing at the beach or pool. He is passionate about travel, food and meeting new people.

Dr. Khalaf

Dr. John Khalaf graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and completed a two-year residency program in Dental Anesthesiology at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Dr. Khalaf loves the satisfaction that comes from transforming lives by providing his patients with exceptional dental care. He is a key part of what makes our practice so successful and builds our excellent reputation. His years of in-depth experience and his kind, professional manner leave patients at ease and create positive experiences that keep patients coming back again and again.

He has a California General Anesthesia permit and is also certified inBasic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced CardiacLife Support.


Dr. Gabriela Andrade

Dr. Gabriela Andrade was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of La Verne with a major in Psychology and minor in Biology. Before starting dental school she spent a year in South Korea teaching English at a rural elementary school.

Dr. Andrade traded in the surf board for skis when she earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from University of Colorado, Denver. While in school she was involved with various organizations; Kids In Need of Dentistry, was the President of the Hispanic Student Dental association, Women In Dentistry and volunteered to provide low cost dental care with Colorado Mission of Mercy. She is passionate about dentistry and making her patients feel at ease all while having fun.

Dr. Andrade is newly married and on her free time she loves to travel, practice yoga and work in her garden.


Amanda F. “Mandie” – Insurance Coordinator

Mandie has been working with children in the dental field for 11 years. She is an RDA with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Cal State Fullerton.

Mandie is our Insurance Coordinator and has been calling Sweet Tooth her work home since its opening in 2014. She is always here to help answer any questions you may have regarding billing and insurance.

When she is not lending a helping hand at work, you can find Amanda walking the aisles of Target. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and son.


Dana – Front Office Treatment Coordinator

Dana is the friendly, welcoming smile you see when you first step into the office. She has been our fun-loving receptionist since March 2021 and her bubbly personality is the perfect embodiment of the Sweet Tooth atmosphere.

Dana is more than helpful with answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling paperwork and ensuring your visit is a pleasant one.

When she isn’t greeting our patients, she is relaxing at home watching her favorite TV shows. She also enjoys shopping and is a Disney fanatic.


Maura – RDA

Kids Dentist in Rancho Cucamonga

Maura has been working in the dental field for 30 years and has been at Sweet Tooth since its opening in 2014. Maura loves working with children because it gives her the opportunity to see them grow year after year.

Maura is a registered Dental Assistant performing cleanings, taking x-rays, and assisting the doctors. Maura will help to make your child feel at ease for their dental appointment.

During her free time, Maura likes to spend time with her family and dogs. She enjoys gardening and travelling to explore new places.


Pearl – RDA / Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator

Pearl has been in the dental field for 12 years. She has been working in pediatrics and orthodontics since she graduated with honors from dental assisting school. Pearl loves working with children because they have great imaginations and say the silliest things.

As a registered Dental assistant, she works in the back doing cleanings, x-rays and helping the doctor chairside. Pear ensures to treat her patients how she would want to be treated at the dentist.

Pearl can be found spending time with her kids at home having movie nights or out hiking. She also enjoys going for runs.


Lily – RDA

Sweet Tooth Orthodontics & Children’s Dentistry

Lily has been working pediatric dentistry since her completion of school from American Dental Academy in 2009. Lily gets a smile on her face from helping our littles with theirs. She says interacting with the kids is what makes her job the most enjoyable.

Lily is a Registered Dental Assistant assisting during treatment appointments, capturing x-rays and performing cleanings. She makes sure her patients are as comfortable as possible during their appointment.

When Lily isn’t working, you will find her doing Zumba. She also enjoys outdoor activities with her kids and husband.


Aaleiyah – RDA

Aaleiyah graduated dental assisting school in 2016 from American Career College and has been working pediatrics and orthodontics since 2018. Pediatric dentistry is her specialty because she feels like a kid at heart and relates to our littles.

As a Registered Dental Assistant, she works in the back doing cleanings, x-rays, and assists the doctor chairside. Aaleiyah really goes out of her way to make sure the patients feel like they have made a friend here at the office.

You can find Aaleiyah at home getting creative with makeup and playing with her dogs.


Aleeseya – RDA

Aleeseya has been working in pediatrics since her graduation from UEI College in 2010. She not only specializes in pediatrics but in orthodontics as well. Aleeseya loves working with our littles because she loves the unique personality of every patient.

Aleeseya works in the back office as a Registered Dental Assistant assisting during treatment and orthodontic appointments, capturing x-rays and doing cleanings. She makes sure her patients are well cared for during their appointment.

In her spare time, she enjoys doing outdoor activities with her children.
